Hi!


I'm a game developer from Porto, Portugal working at The Multiplayer Group on AAA secret game primarily focused on Artificial Intelligence.
I also have my own company Canizes Ltd. where I am working on Dotu.
I have been involved in some really awesome video games and the last one I shipped was Indiana Jones and the Great Circle.
On the academic side I hold a Master's Degree in Graphic Systems and Multimedia.
I consider myself a person with hunger for knowledge and always looking for new ways to improve myself.

As a Principal Software Engineer at The Multiplayer Group I helped Machine Games ship Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. I mainly focus on developing various AI systems using C++.

Senior Gameplay Programmer - Rocksteady

As a Senior Gameplay Programmer at Rocksteady Studios I worked on Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League using C++ and Unreal Engine technology to develop various parts of the video game.

Gameplay Programmer - Ubisoft Sofia

During my time as a Gameplay Programmer at Ubisoft Sofia I worked on Beyond Good and Evil 2, Assassin's Creed: Origins and Assassin's Creed Origins- The Curse of the Pharaohs using C++, C# and in-house technology to develop various gameplay systems and other parts of the video games.

Co-Founder & Programmer - Insane Sheep

While I was taking my Master's Degree I co-founded indie game company with a friend: Insane Sheep. During its active years I created a 2D Android Game Engine from scratch, coded and co-designed two games that were later shipped onto Google Play. Also developed all the company websites.

Master's in Graphics Systems and Multimedia - ISEP

From 2012 until 2014

The Master's was very oriented towards Graphic Systems, but I also had the chance to use some Multimedia tools like Adobe Premier and After Effects. During my time in university, I always tried to pick classes that would allow me to work in game related technology like creating a ray-tracer from scratch or making a small prototype in the Unity engine.

Degree in Informatics Engineering - ISEP

From 2009 until 2012

In my Informatics Engineering degree I used a variety of programming languages like C++, C, Assembly, Java and more. Aside from that I also deepened my knowledge on Algorithms, OOP, Mathematics, Computer Architecture, Physics, Networks, Databases, etc...

At Sofia Game Jam 2018, I spoke about some of the steps I took to achieve the goal of becoming a game developer. Starting from the moment I went to university and created my own indie game company where I developed an android game engine and shipped two titles. Sharing a practical summary with all of the ups and downs of my journey until I became a professional Gameplay Programmer at Ubisoft, conveying some tips to help other developers achieve the same goal.
